The Giants Had A Visit With An Interesting QB Prospect

Even though they just signed QB Daniel Jones to a massive contract, it seems like the New York Giants are still exploring their options at the position.

According to NFL insider Ryan Fowler, the G-Men will hold a visit with Tennessee prospect Hendon Hooker, one of the most intriguing and polarizing players in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Tennessee QB Hendon Hooker had a Top 30 visit with the Houston Texans, and will travel to the Giants, Titans, Buccaneers, and Colts in the coming weeks, per source.

Hooker is coming off an outstanding season with the Volunteers.

He’s an impressive athlete with a big, strong frame that has shown an ability to connect with his receivers at every level of the field.

His accuracy was off the charts, leading the SEC in multiple categories (total offense, yards per attempt, completion percentage, and pass efficiency).

However, as impressive as he has been since taking over as the Volunteers’ QB1 in 2021, he does come with several concerns.

He’s already 25 years old, so some scouts are worried about him already reaching his ceiling.

Also, he’s coming off an ACL injury, which is always tricky, especially when it comes to scramblers and dual-threat QBs like him.

More than that, he’s used to playing in a vertical offense, and making the adjustment to an NFL-style offense could take way longer than you’d want from a guy entering the league at 25 years old.

Hooker seems poised to become a backup at the next level rather than a starter.

Still, Jones better get ready for some competition, as there will be plenty of pressure on his shoulders after signing such a big contract this off-season.
