The Miami Dolphins have no interest in staying pat this offseason.

As the NFL offseason just keeps getting better and better, the Dolphins made the first blockbuster trade.

According to Adam Schefter, the Miami Dolphins have acquired cornerback Jalen Ramsey from the Los Angeles Rams.

Breaking: Jalen Ramsey is being traded to the Dolphins in exchange for a 2023 third-round pick and TE Hunter Long, sources told @AdamSchefter.

The deal will not become official until the new league year begins on Wednesday.

This was a move that was expected to happen as the Rams have been shopping Ramsey.

But, it is always a little surprising to see a big named player get moved.

This move confirms what the Dolphins have done since the last offseason.

They are going all-in and are loading up on star players on both sides of the ball.

Last year they traded for wide receiver Tyreek Hill in the offseason and edge rusher Bradley Chubb during the season.

Both moves helped the Dolphins get back to the playoffs.

Ramsey is still a very good player and he should help the Dolphins out in a big way.

Miami has a new defensive coordinator in Vic Fangio and he has been very successful in that position throughout his career.

Playing in the tough AFC, the Dolphins’ defense will have their work cut out for them.

Knowing they must stop Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, and Josh Allen makes sense on why they would trade for Ramsey.

As for the Rams, it is clear they were just looking to dump Ramsey’s salary and try to recoup some draft picks.

LA might be headed for a long rebuild just two seasons after winning the Super Bowl.
