The Bills Have Reportedly Met With A Top DL Prospect

While the Buffalo Bills have made it clear that they would rather build their team with their checkbooks rather than their big boards, their salary cap situation might shake things up a little in the front office.

They currently hold the 27th overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, one that they could use to revamp their undermanned defensive unit for years to come.

That’s why they reportedly had quite a long and positive conversation with Clemson DL star Bryan Breese at the NFL Scouting Combine, according to his own words.

Notably, Bills HC Sean McDermott has repeatedly stated that his staff likes to meet with some players they know might not be available once they’re on the clock, and this might be another case of that.

Maybe the Bills are looking to trade up to get him, as it’s unlikely that a guy like him will slip all the way to the 27th spot.

Most analysts believe Breese is poised to be a mid-first-round pick, with some scouts even deeming him a top-10 selection.

Through 28 career games with the Tigers, Breese had 15 tackles for a loss, nine sacks, and was one of the anchors and glue guys in one of the most physical defensive units in the nation, and Clemson has a long track record of success with future NFL talents.

So, the Bills might be wise to try and move up several spots and get a potential DPOY candidate like him, especially given how tight money could be next season.
