Sean Payton Explains Why He Chose His New QB Coach

The Denver Broncos have made a regime change heading into 2023.

First, they hired offensive guru Sean Payton to be their next head coach.

He will be tasked with fixing what was one of the worst offenses in the NFL.

Also, he will need to figure out what went wrong with Russell Wilson last year.

Wilson had the worst season of his career, and his play cost them many games.

The Broncos have a good defense in place, so the offense must pull its weight.

Other than hiring Payton, the Broncos made another interesting hire for their offensive staff.

That was bringing in Davis Webb as their quarterback coach.

Webb was most recently seen playing for the New York Giants at the end of 2022.

He decided to retire from playing and head right into coaching.

Webb is 28 years old and will be tasked with coaching Wilson, who is older than him.

But, Payton seemed thrilled to add Webb to his coaching staff.

“He had a file on his computer of every game plan he had since he was in high school.”

Webb is a bright football mind, who seemed to be prepared for every game he ever played.

Having a file of every game plan on his computer goes to show you how he might act as a coach.

Webb will have his hands full in his first season of coaching.

He and Payon will have to work together to find strengths of Wilson and utilize them.

If this staff can not get the best out of their quarterback they are in serious trouble.

The Broncos have playoff expectations in 2023, and their coaching staff will be a big reason for their success.
