Peter King Makes His Thoughts On Carson Wentz Very Clear

Carson Wentz’s NFL career has been a bit of a wild ride.

Just six years ago, he was a legit MVP contender and looked like the future of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Fast forward to today, and he’s unemployed and will likely never be a starting quarterback in the NFL again.

That’s why NFL insider Peter King recently bashed him by putting his career into context by the numbers, citing that no other player in league history has cost so much and delivered so little.

Veteran NFL writer Peter King on Carson Wentz: “I’d argue that no player in NFL history has cost so much and delivered so little.”

King pointed out the fact that he only played nine postseason snaps despite signing a $79 million deal with the Eagles.

He then got north of $21 million from the Indianapolis Colts just to play them out of the playoffs with his struggles, also missing a must-win game due to the league’s COVID policies for unvaccinated players.

The Colts got a major haul from the Washington Commanders and were more than glad to move on from him, all while his new team paid him nearly $30 million for half a season that ended with him being booed off the field.

Overall, Wentz’s trades cost his teams a grand total of nine picks, all in the top 100, including the 8th, 12th, and 17th overall picks, and five first or second-team All-Pros.

Carson Wentz had all the physical tools to be a star, but injuries and his lack of accountability cost him that promising career.

At least he made plenty of money along the way, and his agent should be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
