The Seattle Seahawks made the playoffs in 2022, something that was certainly not expected of them heading into the season.

They had just traded away Russell Wilson, and their quarterback situation was seen as less than ideal.

However, Geno Smith was able to find great success during the regular season despite his doubters.

The Seahawks were also able to hit it big with their draft picks this year, receiving high marks from across the league, including an A- from analyst Eric Edholm.

When NFL teams draft prospects, they do so with trepidation.

Although prospects can be highly regarded during their time in college, it can take some time for them to transition their game to the NFL.

Whether it was due to coaching, natural ability, or a mixture of both, the majority of the Seahawks’ rookies contributed in a big way this season.

Take Tariq Woolen, for instance.

Woolen was a fifth-round draft pick, and he was not expected to be a year-one contributor for the Seahawks.

Not only was Woolen a fantastic player for the Seahawks this year, but he was also recognized as a finalist for the Defensive Rookie of the Year award.

Kenneth Walker III was also an impactful player for the Seahawks in his rookie campaign.

Walker appeared in 15 games, amassing a season stat line of 1,050 rushing yards, and nine touchdowns.

While Walker was a highly touted running back, his role was expected to be diminished this season, given Rashaad Penny’s role on the team.

The rest of the Seahawks draft class performed well also and should look to improve in their sophomore campaign.
