NFL Insider Says The Buccaneers Have A Plan In Place For QB

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had their entire offseason shaken up when Tom Brady announced his retirement.

Even though he was set to be a free agent, the Bucs had to think they had a chance at bringing him back.

Yet, he is officially done playing in the NFL and the Buccaneers need a new quarterback.

While many people thought they would go after a veteran or draft someone, the Bucs may already have their guy in place.

According to Benjamin Albright, the Bucs plan to give Kyle Trask the starting job this season.

While the QB carousel this off-season figures to be the talk for about 4 or 5 teams, it appears like the Buccaneers want to roll with Kyle Trask and possibly bring in a low-cost veteran like Drew Lock.

Trask was selected in the second round of the 2021 NFL draft.

So it makes sense that the Bucs want to find out what they have in Trask.

In his career, Trask has thrown nine passes for 23 yards.

He will need time to develop on the field, but at least he learned from Brady the past two seasons.

Trask is built like an NFL QB standing at 6-5, 236 lbs.

He also had plenty of success in Florida during his college days, which is why the Bucs took him so high.

Playing in the NFC South is a massive advantage for the Bucs.

The other three teams have unproven quarterbacks as well, and the Bucs still have a good defense.

If Trask can be a solid game manager in his first year, the Bucs will have a chance to compete.

Overall, we should not be surprised that the Buccaneers are going to Trask.

It is time to see if he can be a starting quarterback in the NFL or not.
