NFL Insider Gives Combine Update On 2 Top QB Prospects

The NFL Combine is rapidly approaching.

The event is one of the last opportunities for draft prospects to showcase their skills in hopes of raising their draft capital.

Although there are many impressive positional groups in the upcoming draft, the quarterback position has been seen as one of, if not, the strongest.

Ohio State QB C.J. Stroud will throw at this week’s NFL Scouting Combine, while Alabama QB Bryce Young will wait to do so for his pro day, sources tell me and @TomPelissero.

Young is long past his AC joint injury from this season, but he’ll just do interviews in Indy.

C.J. Stroud and Bryce Young are two of the most highly touted quarterback prospects.

Stroud was able to shine at Ohio State, and Young won the Heisman Trophy in 2021.

Both are exceptional talents, but it appears that Young will not be throwing at the Combine, saving his efforts for his Pro Day.

Pro Days have become increasingly popular in the last several years.

This is an opportunity for scouts to get a close-up view of what players can do, in a much more individualized setting than the Combine.

As seen in previous seasons, the Pro Day experience has been highly vital, causing teams to move players high up on their draft boards.

Take Zach Wilson, for example.

Wilson played quarterback at BYU, a college not necessarily known to produce high-level quarterback talent.

However, Wilson’s Pro Day impressed many across the league, including the New York Jets, who drafted him second overall in the 2021 draft.

Will Young’s Pro Day prove to be as effective as Wilson’s?

Stroud will throw during the Combine and a Pro Day, giving scouts two separate opportunities to monitor his passing abilities.

Which of these highly touted quarterbacks will be the first to be drafted in April?
