NFL Fans React To Today’s Mike White News

The most pressing question surrounding the Miami Dolphins right now is their quarterback situation.

Tua Tagovailoa had a breakout campaign in 2022, but he suffered multiple concussions, and many people aren’t sure he should even play football anymore.

But he will continue, and as long as he remains healthy, he could be poised for a Pro Bowl nod pretty soon.

However, insurance is needed behind Tagovailoa, and therefore the Dolphins are signing QB Mike White, who played his first two seasons with the New York Jets.

Some fans seem to like the move for Miami.

Really smart move by both parties. Think White can fill in nicely, if need be, and this is a relatively cheap contingency plan for MIA. Dolphins’ brass has made a lot of sharp moves over the past two seasons. Respect.

LOVE THIS. Great showing last year. I wanted Miami to end up with Bennett or Hooker in the draft but this is great.

This fan pointed out how White was the AFC Player of the Week during his rookie season.

This Jets fan was sad to see White go to a division rival.

Good lord. The one place he could go where it’d be hard to root for him. Happy he got paid tho.

The 27-year-old has started just seven games in his two pro seasons, and he has collected 2,145 passing yards on a 62.2 percent completion rate and eight touchdowns, although he has also thrown 12 interceptions.

White will be Miami’s second-string quarterback five years after he was a fifth-round draft pick by the Dallas Cowboys after playing college ball at the University of South Florida and Western Kentucky University.

He is a native of Pembroke Pines, which is located in Broward County, so this signing will allow him to return home to the greater Miami area.

Of course, the big move Miami just made was its trade for veteran cornerback Jalen Ramsey, which gives it a fearsome duo in the secondary with him and fellow Pro Bowl corner Xavien Howard.

The Dolphins finished 26th in passing touchdowns allowed and 27th in passing yards allowed this past season, and those numbers should improve with Ramsey on board, which should take some pressure off Tagovailoa and White on the other side of the football.
