The New Orleans Saints are looking to get back to the playoffs in 2023.
After a disappointing season that saw them finish 7-10, the Saints are making major moves.
The first big move they made was by finding an upgrade at quarterback.
New Orleans agreed to a deal with former Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr.
He signed a four-year deal with the Saints and has high expectations coming along with him.
To help Carr flourish, the Saints want to give him as many weapons as possible.
One player they will be welcoming back into the fold is Michael Thomas.
According to Adam Schefter, the Saints agreed to a restricted deal with the wide receiver.

Thomas was elite back in 2018 and 2019, but he has played only 10 games since then.
He even missed all of the 2021 season with an ankle injury.
Many fans are not sold on the fact that Thomas can stay healthy for a full season.

Also, this contract looks as if the Saints believe Thomas will get back to a Pro-Bowl level.
But, many fans are skeptical that he can.
……. for a guy that hasn’t produced in 4 years? Yikes

Thomas will need to prove early on that he can still be an elite playmaker.
He will get plenty of chances from Carr, and they should be able to build some chemistry.

Plenty of pressure will be on Thomas to stay healthy and live up to the contract.
Some fans are optimistic that Thomas can return to the player we saw a few years ago.
Comeback year for MT?
Even in another injury-shortened 2022 campaign, Thomas flashed his elite ability. His 77.4 receiving grade ranked 12th among wide receivers, his 3 TDs tied for 2nd and his 8 contested catches were the most in the NFL through the first three weeks.”

The Saints should be heavy favorites in the NFC South in 2023, with Carr and Thomas being two of their key cogs on offense.
