The Baltimore Ravens have sent shockwaves through the NFL.
On franchise tag deadline day, the Ravens decided to place the non-exclusive franchise tag on quarterback Lamar Jackson.
This move should come as a surprise to many because it increased the chances of Jackson leaving Baltimore.
Any team is now able to negotiate with Jackson and can work toward a long-term deal.
But, if someone does agree to a deal with the former MVP, the Ravens will have a chance to match any deal.
If they do not, then they will receive two first-round picks from whatever team gets Jackson.
That is how the non-exclusive franchise tag works.
Many fans feel as if the Ravens are treating Jackson wrong by putting this tag on him.
@Lj_era8 you gotta leave the ravens
Treated you wrong dude

Jackson should be happy to talk with other teams and see which ones will match his demands.
It is very rare for a 26-year-old, former league MVP to hit the open market, but here we are.
The other AFC North teams are certainly not upset with seeing Jackson get this tag.
Thank you from a steelers fan. Nice of you to drive your QB outta town

It almost seems like a foregone conclusion that Jackson will be wearing a new uniform next season.
The relationship between the Ravens is Jackson is most likely in a bad spot, and it would be best if they part ways.
Plenty of teams will be lining up to try and land Jackson, as their fan bases all push for the former MVP.
Wow! @Raiders do it!

Among many teams that should be interested are the Raiders, Jets, Panthers, Colts, and a few others.
It will be interesting to see how this process plays out over the next few weeks.
