The Chicago Bears, who had the NFL’s worst record this past season at 3-14, have many needs, but they appear to have the resources to address them this offseason.
They traded the top pick in next month’s NFL draft to the Carolina Panthers for four picks, including the No. 9 selection this year, and wide receiver D.J. Moore, and they will have a ton of salary cap space to work with as well.
Moore should help immediately, as he registered over 1,100 yards in three consecutive seasons from 2019 to 2021.
But the Bears also need to improve their offensive line, and analyst Marc Ross predicted that Kansas City Chiefs offensive tackle Orlando Brown will end up heading to Chicago.

In 2022, the Bears allowed the fourth-most sacks in the league with 58, and protecting quarterback Justin Fields will be one of the keys to unlocking his potential.
Moore will give him a reliable pass target, but an improved offensive line will give him more time to read defenses and go through his progressions when looking to pass.
Brown has made the Pro Bowl in each of the last four seasons, and he is coming off winning the Super Bowl with the Chiefs over the Philadelphia Eagles.
After he was a third-round draft pick in 2018, he spent his first three seasons with the Baltimore Ravens where he helped create avenues for quarterback Lamar Jackson.
The Bears ranked last in passing yards in 2022, and giving Fields more protection should help improve that ranking next season.
Fields completed just 60.4 percent of his passes while throwing 11 interceptions this past season.
