As it usually happens, NFL scouts are sharing mixed takes on QB prospect Anthony Richardson.
While some think that he could end up being the best quarterback in his class, others aren’t so sure about his decision-making, ball placement, and whether he’ll be able to be more efficient at the professional level.
Richardson’s physical traits and dual-threat skill set make him an enticing prospect and one that could put up video game-like numbers in the NFL.
But then again, so could Jameis Winston, and we all saw how that ended up.
Nonetheless, the positive seems to outweigh the negative for him, at least if you were to ask ESPN NFL Draft expert Mel Kiper Jr.
Recently, Kiper stated that Richardson has all the tools to become one of the three best-running QBs in the league, which is a lot to say with guys like Lamar Jackson, Justin Fields, Jalen Hurts, and Josh Allen also in the NFL.
“When [Anthony Richardson] becomes a starter, he’ll be one of the top-three running QBs in the NFL,” Kiper said on Get Up.

Richardson is 6’4”, 232 pounds, and seems to have a cannon for an arm, often drawing comparisons to Cam Newton or Josh Allen.
There’s no doubt in his physical traits, but his 54.7% completion percentage and 24 touchdowns to 15 interceptions could lead him to be the fourth QB taken in his class.
Drafting isn’t an exact science, and being taken late doesn’t mean you’re not going to make it; just ask Tom Brady.
So, it’ll be interesting to see which team takes a chance on the QB out of Florida, and hopefully, he’ll be able to live up to that exciting potential.
