New York Jets fans have recently gotten a boost regarding their quarterback situation moving forward.

Recent reporting has indicated that Aaron Rodgers has met with the organization.

This came on the heels of countless rumors that tied Rodgers to the Jets, which are now coming to fruition.

While this meeting doesn’t necessarily indicate that Rodgers will be a Jet in 2023, it’s a step in the right direction.

According to Rich Cimini of ESPN, that, because the two parties met, “permission isn’t granted unless teams have agreed to trade compensation.”

This would mean the Jets have received permission to speak with Rodgers (otherwise, it would be tampering). Routinely, permission isn’t granted unless teams have agreed to trade compensation. So stay tuned. #Jets https://t.co/2ym1uCpHfP

The fact that this conversation even happened, indicates that the Green Bay Packers are open to trading Rodgers.

Even after his darkness retreat, Rodgers hasn’t made any public announcements about his future playing status.

He could still retire, return to the Packers, or join a team like the Jets.

All options are currently on the table, and with free agency looming, Rodgers could be forced to make a decision soon.

The Packers are reported to be confident in Jordan Love’s abilities to lead their team.

Love is their contingency plan if Rodgers ends up leaving the team.

It’s only a matter of time before Rodgers makes this decision.

If he does leave the Packers, the Jets appear to be the best fit for him.

With one of the league’s top defenses and a myriad of young weapons, the Jets have been seen as an intriguing destination for a free-agent quarterback.

If paired with Breece Hall, Garrett Wilson, and Elijah Moore, the Jets could see a massive upswing in offensive production, assuming Rodgers joins the team.
