Jets Insider Ponders Aaron Rodgers Repeating Recent History

The New York Jets are in desperate need of a quarterback.

They had their sights set on Derek Carr, but he signed with the New Orleans Saints.

So, the Jets had to turn their focus to a former four-time NFL MVP.

The Jets are interested in acquiring Aaron Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers.

It seems like the Packers are ready to move forward without Rodgers.

That is why they allowed Rodgers to speak with the Jets.

But, Jets insider Rich Cimini wonders if Rodgers will end up returning to the Packers anyway.

On this day a year ago, Aaron Rodgers ended weeks of speculation and over-baked drama by declaring his intention to return to the #Packers.

If he has a sense of symmetry … a decision today? #Jets

While that is still a possibility, this offseason seems much different than last year’s.

Rodgers did not meet with any other teams last offseason because Green Bay wanted him to be their quarterback.

One history Rodgers could end up repeating is that of Brett Favre.

Favre ended his Packers career when he was traded to the New York Jets.

It seems like there is at least a possibility of that happening with Rodgers.

From the Jets’ perspective, they should be all-in on Rodgers.

Even though he may only play one or two more seasons, he can help get them over the top.

Rodgers would give the Jets one of the best quarterbacks in the AFC and make them serious threats in the conference.

Also, the Jets would instantly become on par with the Buffalo Bills, who have won the AFC East the last three seasons.

The Jets seem ready to make a big move, and this could be it.
