Jason Kelce was one of the most impactful players on the Philadelphia Eagles this season.

Having an elite center is often the key to success on offense, and having a five-time All-Pro in that position proved invaluable for this organization.

Kelce’s future in the NFL is currently up in the air, as there is a chance that he will retire in the offseason.

Regardless of his decision, the Eagles paid Kelce a hefty bonus this week.

While Eagles C Jason Kelce continues to weigh his future, the team paid him a $3M bonus yesterday (the $2.75M roster bonus he was due in 2023 + $250K offseason bonus he was due in 2023).

The cap impact for now is Philly creates $2.4M in 2023 cap space.

Kelce’s bonus was for a total of $3 million, which was a combination of a roster bonus and an offseason bonus as well.

Because of his elite play at the center position, the Eagles found tremendous success in the running game this season.

In fact, in the two playoff games leading up to the Super Bowl, Jalen Hurts only needed to throw 49 times, a direct testament to the strength of the offensive line.

Whether Kelce will retire in the offseason remains to be seen.

In the eyes of the Eagles, this payout was a win-win scenario.

If Kelce does retire, this was a great way for him to go out, make it to the Super Bowl, and receive a great bonus.

However, if he returns to the team, the Eagles have $2.4 million in extra cap space to work with, and will be able to negotiate a deal with that extra money in mind.

The Eagles made it to the Super Bowl this season, and will likely be able to contend for the top spot in the NFC for the foreseeable future.

Will Kelce stick around for another year?
