The New York Giants were one of the most impressive and improved teams in the NFL last season.

Brian Daboll took pretty much the same team Joe Judge had and completely turned it around, especially in terms of their offense.

Needless to say, Daniel Jones also deserves plenty of credit for that.

Daboll worked his magic with him, and he had the best season of his career yet, finally looking like he could be a franchise quarterback.

Nonetheless, Jones was exposed in the team’s final game versus the Philadelphia Eagles, and even though he was much better last season, he’s still far from an elite QB in this league.

Notably, the Duke product will demand top dollar in his new contract, with the reports stating that he’s looking at $45 million per year.

He’s so serious about this demand that he’s even switching agents ahead of free agency.

That’s why NFL insider Connor Hughes urged him to reconsider and not demand that much money, as he’s just going to get himself franchise-tagged.

“What might be best for him is not demanding the most money right now. The Giants are not going to pay Daniel Jones $45 million.”@Connor_J_Hughes joins @JSB_TV to talk Daniel Jones’ contract talks on @Honda SportsNite: https://t.co/FHqXGIRw8V pic.twitter.com/o42FDYMoDv

The Giants would rather keep him on board on a long-term deal, but there’s no way they’re going to pay a mid-tier QB nearly as much as Patrick Mahomes.

That’s just not happening.

Jones still has some potential as long as Daboll is calling the shots, but that has more to do with how Daboll developed Josh Allen than his actual skills, and he’s done nothing to prove that he’s worthy of that kind of money.
