The Seattle Seahawks have found their quarterback of the future, or at least the next three years.

The Seahawks and quarterback Geno Smith agreed to a three-year contract extension earlier in the week.

It was a deal that might come as a surprise to some, but Smith was awesome last season for Seattle.

He set a career-high in yards and touchdowns and led the NFL in completion percentage with 69.8%.

Smith finished ninth in MVP voting and won the comeback player of the year award.

A reporter asked Smith what the Seahawks need to have another successful season.

In what was a funny moment in the press conference, Smith replied “me?”

With GM John Schneider sitting next to him, Geno Smith was asked what needs to be done to improve the team.

Smith was even surprised to be asked this question since he has no say in the personnel decisions.

Nonetheless, he answered the question like a true professional.

Seattle was 9-8 last season and they were the seventh and final seed in the NFC playoffs.

No one expected the Seahawks to be as good as they were last year.

Most of the reasons were that people did not think Smith was a starting-caliber quarterback.

Not only did he prove he can start in the league, but he made himself one of the highest-paid quarterbacks.

Smith will now make $35 million per year over the next three seasons.

No one saw that coming before the year.

But, Smith is a reliable quarterback and could help get them back to the playoffs.

It will be interesting to see how Smith and the Seahawks play next year as they will not sneak up on anybody.
