Dan Campbell was hired as the Detroit Lions head coach in the 2021 offseason.

In just two years, Campbell has transformed the Lions locker room and culture in general.

The team got an unfamiliar taste of winning in 2022, finishing the season with a 9-8 record.

While they ultimately fell short of the playoffs, it appears that the Lions have a division-winning mindset heading into 2023.

During Campbell’s tenure with the team thus far, the Lions have found great success in the NFL Draft.

In fact, over the last two seasons, the Lions have drafted five players that look to have an enormous impact on the team moving forward.

Ahead of this year’s combine, Campbell revealed what is most important to the Lions when evaluating a prospect.

“You grade them off the tape, you don’t grade somebody out here in pajamas, running the 40 with no defender around,” Campbell said, per Pro Football Talk.

Campbell believes that it is much more impactful to view a player’s game film than to study what they do at the combine.

Many teams use a hefty combination of the two, but fans should believe that Campbell and his team have a plan.

It’s worked out in his tenure thus far, as the team has drafted players like Aidan Hutchinson, Penei Sewell, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Jameson Williams.

This year, the Lions have two first-round picks, at sixth and 18th overall.

What they will do with them certainly remains to be seen, but they should have ample opportunity to speak with prospective draftees at the combine.

Who will the Lions add to this roster in hopes of making a run at the playoffs?
