Chiefs RB Has High Praise For Andy Reid

The Kansas City Chiefs finished their Super Bowl victory with just a bit of controversy.

JuJu Smith-Schuster was held on a third down, giving the Chiefs an automatic first down, and ultimately, helped secure the victory.

Then, Jerick McKinnon had an easy path to a touchdown but fell short to take more time off the clock.

Many players might have scored regardless, cementing their place in Super Bowl history.

McKinnon’s choice was easy, at least, in his mind.

After the game, McKinnon cited Andy Reid’s coaching style as his main reason for not scoring the touchdown.

Reid, of course, is seen as one of the league’s best coaches and was a nominee for the Coach of the Year award.

McKinnon and the rest of the team trust his leadership and judgment.

This selfless act by McKinnon allowed the Chiefs to kick a field goal with only a few seconds left on the clock, virtually guaranteeing themselves the victory.

McKinnon was an unsung hero on the Chiefs for multiple reasons.

The Chiefs drafted Clyde Edwards-Helaire in the first round of the 2020 draft but he has underwhelmed expectations thus far.

McKinnon has not only been a valuable facet of the rushing game but was a great addition to their receiving game as well.

Before the 2022 season, the Chiefs were unable to retain Tyreek Hill, and many questioned their ability to succeed without him.

Players like McKinnon, and Smith-Schuster, among others, stepped up in a big way en route to their Super Bowl victory.
