The New York Jets have been vocal about their desire to land a new starting quarterback for quite a while now.

HC Robert Saleh praised Derek Carr, but it always seemed like Aaron Rodgers was their first choice.

Jets legend Joe Namath gave him his blessing to wear his retired no. 12 jersey if that was what it took to get him to New York, and the Jets hiring his former OC — and close friend — Nathaniel Hackett after a dreadful year in Denver didn’t seem like a coincidence.

That’s why ESPN insider Adam Schefter was trying to make a hilarious Brian Windhorst impersonation when he discussed Allen Lazard’s potential signing with the Jets.

Schefter tried to replicate Windhorst’s now-viral video when he discussed the odd moves that the Utah Jazz were making.

He claimed that Rodgers forced the Packers to bring Randall Cobb back with him to stay with the team, so he believes that he could be doing the same with New York.

Lazard had become his no. 1 receiver sans Davante Adams, so it wouldn’t be shocking to see Rodgers trying to push them to land him.

In fact, it might not even be for football-related reasons; he might just like him as a person, or is trying to test the waters and see how much leverage he could have with his new team.

Aaron Rodgers likes to tease and stay on top of the headlines, so don’t be shocked if he keeps on dragging this inevitable decision for as long as he can.
