After releasing Derek Carr during this off-season cycle, the Las Vegas Raiders are on the hunt for a new quarterback.

Thus far, the Raiders have been linked to Aaron Rodgers, who is still on the Green Bay Packers roster.

While the NFL is still awaiting Rodgers’ decision, the Raiders appear to pursue another free-agent option.

According to NFL insider Dan Graziano, the Raiders are expected to pursue Jimmy Garoppolo.

Despite Garoppolo’s play for the San Francisco 49ers, the team continues to express that he is not a part of their future.

Between Trey Lance and Brock Purdy, the 49ers must believe that they are set at the quarterback position.

This is great news for both the Raiders and Garappolo, as both parties could benefit.

Garoppolo is just 31 years old and could provide quarterback stability to the Raiders, who have been under Carr’s leadership since 2014.

Between Davante Adams, Josh Jacobs, and Darren Waller, the Raiders are equipped with enough offensive weapons to present themselves as an attractive landing spot for any free-agent quarterback.

Garoppolo’s history is definitely something to note for the Raiders as well.

While Carr was just 0-1 in playoff games during his career as a Raider, Garoppolo has a better record in the playoffs.

If signed, Garoppolo’s playoff experience could be valuable for this team.

Ultimately, there is a lot of time for the Raiders to make this decision, but they may want to act fast.

Garoppolo could get snatched up by another willing suitor, given his extensive league experience.
