Former NFL linebacker Blake Martinez sure made a big name for himself on the gridiron.

However, it seems like he’s found even more success in a rather unusual field for a former athlete, let alone a former football player.

According to several reports, the former New York Giants player has become a stalwart figure in the Pokémon trading card industry.

Martinez made over $28 million in the NFL, and he was one of the most prominent linebackers in the game before his career was cut short by an ACL injury.

During his rehab, Martinez realized how much money he could make from this curious side hustle, so he decided to skip his NFL comeback to make it a full-time gig.

Martinez launched Blake’s Breaks in late 2022, and he’s grossed over $5 million in just seven months by re-selling Pokémon trading cards.

The former NFL star reportedly reinvests up to a quarter of his revenue, dividing the rest between him and his 15 employees, becoming one of the most successful entrepreneurs among former NFL players in recent times.

It’s not so usual to see former football players making it big away from the gridiron, let alone in this kind of field.

Notably, Blake knew one thing or two about this business.

He gathered over a thousand cards in a binder, rarely using them to play with a select group of his closest friends.

Now, he’s literally making millions off of them.
