The Jets Are Sticking To A Top Offseason Priority

The New York Jets will be one team to watch this offseason.

They are coming off a 7-10 season and showed plenty of promise throughout the year.

One spot where they must improve next season is at quarterback.

Team Owner, Woody Johnson, has made bringing in a veteran quarterback one of his top priorities.

Derek Carr will visit with the New York Jets, per sources. (@MikeGarafolo with it first)

The top quarterback available on the open market is Derek Carr.

He was released by the Raiders this week and now is free to sign with any team in the league.

Carr should be one of the Jets’ top targets.

Not only is he still young for a QB, but he has experience leading a team to the playoffs.

The Jets have not made the playoffs since 2010.

But, Carr is certainly good enough to get the Jets back into the tournament.

New York tried to invest in youth at the position by drafting Zach Wilson.

But, that experiment has failed.

So they should be looking for more of a sure thing this time around.

While Carr would still not give the Jets the best QB in the division, he would at least give them a fighting chance.

If Carr is not the option in New York then the Jets must go all-in for Aaron Rodgers.

Green Bay is looking to move Rodgers, and they only want to send him to an AFC team.

Adding Rodgers to the Jets would arguably make them one of the top contenders in the conference.

Expect the Jets to be aggressive this offseason in finding a veteran signal-caller.
