The Chargers Have Agreed To Terms With Their Backup QB

With the March 15 free-agent deadline looming, many NFL teams quickly need to make decisions about their roster situation moving forward.

The Los Angeles Chargers have recently made moves to get under the salary cap, including restructuring the contracts of two marquee wide receivers.

Recently, the Chargers have re-signed Easton Stick to back-up Justin Herbert, per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

Stick was a fifth-round pick by the Chargers in 2019 after having an impressive collegiate career at North Dakota State University.

He holds the FCS record for the most wins by a starting quarterback, racking up 49 total wins.

Now, Stick will continue to back up Justin Herbert, one of the league’s brightest young quarterbacks.

Although Stick had a great collegiate career, his chances of getting any time are extremely limited as long as he is on the Chargers.

The front office has made its commitment to Herbert known.

Even though it might cost them significantly more money in the long run, restructuring the contracts of Keenan Allen and Mike Williams should work out for them in the short term.

Herbert will have two valuable weapons to work with, which should help his development moving forward.

The AFC West is a difficult division, and Herbert and the Chargers have their work cut out for them.

Having Patrick Mahomes in the division is a tall task.

The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off a Super Bowl victory, and the Denver Broncos should improve mightily in 2023 as well.
