Joe Haden Has Hilarious Response To Retirement Question

For 12 seasons from 2010 to 2021 with the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers, Joe Haden was one of the NFL‘s standout cornerbacks, and he made it to three Pro Bowl squads in 2013, 2014, and 2019.

After a decline in his production, he decided to call it quits last September.

At age 33, one has to wonder if perhaps Haden still has a little bit left in his tank, but when asked on the “I Am Athlete” podcast if he may be interested in coming out of retirement to play for a contender such as the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, he didn’t seem interested.

What if the Chiefs call and say, “Yo, we wanna put you at safety.”

Haden spent his last five seasons with the Steelers, and he made two appearances in the playoffs in 2017 and 2021, although he missed a third in 2020 after being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

He had the misfortune of spending the vast majority of his career on teams that simply didn’t have enough of the prerequisite ingredients to be very good, if not great, as the Browns were deeply mired in a very long rebuilding process and the Steelers were aging on the vine with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in his final years.

He did, however, win a BCS national championship in college as a member of the University of Florida Gators during the 2008 season, when they defeated the Oklahoma Sooners in the title game.

The following year, which was his last at Florida, he won the National Defensive Player of the Year award from Sporting News, as well as first-team All-American and first-team All-SEC honors.
