John Lynch has been involved in the NFL since 1993 in various capacities.
He played in the league from 1993 to 2007, amassing a 15-year career as a strong safety.
After his time on the field, he moved to the broadcasting booth, working on FOX.
He joined the San Francisco 49ers organization in 2017, becoming their general manager.
Lynch is well-respected around the league, and his opinions are usually taken seriously.
This bodes well for the Houston Texans‘ new head coach, DeMeco Ryans.
Regarding Ryans, Lynch spoke highly of him, saying that he is: “One of the people I admire the most, tremendous leader of people. Sky is the limit,” according to Aaron Wilson.

Ryans worked for the 49ers organization from 2017-2022.
He started as their defensive quality control coach, then was the inside linebackers coach before being promoted to defensive coordinator.
Lynch knows Ryans well, which is why he gave him this glowing public review.
Will Ryans’ success with the 49ers translate to a head coaching role with the Texans?
The Texans have finished the past three seasons with four or fewer wins.
Ryans has his work cut for him, especially in consideration of the fact that the Texans don’t have an established starting quarterback for the 2023 season.
The Texans are rumored to be in the mix to draft a quarterback, given their position at second overall.
The last time that the Texans used significant draft capital on a quarterback was in 2017 when they selected Deshaun Watson 12th overall.
That turned out well for the organization, at least for a few years.
Will the Texans be able to find another superstar quarterback in this year’s draft?
