Both sides could not agree to a restructured deal, and now he will hit free agency.
Clark will be entering his age-30 season next year, and he can still be an asset to a pass-rush-needy team.
Many Chiefs fans will miss Clark, especially because he always seemed to show up in the playoffs.
Salute to Frank Clark man. Took a lot of heat from his play during the regular season sometimes but man was he elite when he needed to be & he always showed up in big games…a big reason the Chiefs were able to win 2 rings in a 4 year span

Clark has had a slight dip in production over the past few seasons.
He recorded only 5.0 sacks last season in 15 games, along with a career-low 13 quarterback hits.
But, during his playoff career in KC, his production was unmatched.
He had 10.5 sacks in 12 career playoff games with the Chiefs.
At first, I was not a fan of Frank Clark as he was a horrible contract. But man he grew on me, I will miss him being a Chief. The sad part of the business unfortunately.

One team that comes to mind who could be interested in Clark is the San Francisco 49ers.
He could come in and be a pass-rush specialist opposite of Nick Bosa.
The #49ers were interested in trading for DE Frank Clark last season, who will now be released by the Chiefs.
Feels like the 29-year old could be someone the 49ers target on the cheap opposite of Nick Bosa.

For the Chiefs, they seem to lose key players each year and yet keep reloading.
One player who will be looking to step into a bigger role is George Karlaftis.
He was the Chiefs’ first-round pick last year and he looked to be a future star.
Kansas City has done a great job in the draft in recent seasons.
That is part of the reason why they are so comfortable letting some of their key players go.
It will be interesting to see what other moves they plan to make this offseason.
