The Seattle Seahawks were one of the most surprising NFL teams during the 2022 season.

After trading away Russell Wilson, many expected the Seahawks to rebuild, missing the playoffs.

However, Geno Smith was able to find a home in this offense.

He won the Comeback Player of the Year award, and, although they had a short-lived run, did make the playoffs.

Ahead of the 2023 season, Gregg Bell, a Seahawks reporter, highlighted a potential target for the offseason.

Bobby Wagner’s return to the Seahawks is growing more plausible.

Multiple NFL sources tell @thenewstribune at the scouting combine Seattle is keenly interested in signing back the 6-time All-Pro LB for 2023. But there’s much to sort out for it to happen: https://t.co/JyOBwsLbVo

Bobby Wagner left the Seahawks to join the Los Angeles Rams in the 2022 offseason, signing a five-year contract.

However, Wagner was released from the Rams in early February and is now able to sign with whichever team he chooses.

Many have pointed to the Seahawks as a potential destination for Wagner, given his ten-season tenure with the team.

Wagner was a part of the Seahawks’ 2013 Super Bowl championship team and is beloved by many fans and teammates due to the impact he left on the organization.

If both parties are in agreement, the Seahawks are in a great position to sign Wagner.

They are currently $24 million under the cap, meaning that they have some wiggle room to sign a free agent as well as their 2023 draft picks.

With a few key additions, the Seahawks could find themselves in a position to make the playoffs again next season, and make a deeper run as well.

They will have to compete with the San Francisco 49ers in the division, which could be a potential snag for their hopes of a playoff run.
