The Saints Are Reportedly Close To A Contract Extension For Key Player

The New Orleans Saints need to improve their roster this offseason.

Even though they do not have a first-round pick, the Saints must find more talent.

They are currently strapped for cap space, but they can create enough by releasing a few players.

After a disappointing 7-10 season, the Saints need help all over the field.

One move they made before the start of free agency was resigning one of their pass rushers.

New Orleans is close to a multiyear deal with defensive end Tanoh Kpassagnon.

The #Saints are closing in on a multiyear contract extension with DE Tanoh Kpassagnon, per sources. Kpassagnon has six sacks over the past two seasons in New Orleans and was set to become a free agent.

Even though this is a smaller deal, Kpassagnon can be a nice depth piece on the defensive line.

But, he will most likely not make a game-changing difference for the Saints.

Playing in the NFC South means the division is wide open.

After Tom Brady’s retirement, none of the teams have a franchise quarterback in place.

So it seems likely that whichever team is most aggressive this offseason will give themselves the upper hand.

Since Drew Brees retired, the Saints have been unable to find a franchise quarterback.

It will be interesting to see if they trot out Andy Dalton and Jameis Winston again, or if they look elsewhere.

One quarterback that we know is available is Derek Carr.

He is free to sign with any team, and he has already met with the Saints.

This is the type of win-now move that New Orleans must make.

The Saints have a great opportunity ahead of them in 2023, and they must take advantage.
