The NFL is a quarterback’s league, and there’s just no way you can win without a good one.
The Baltimore Ravens might be the last team to win a Super Bowl with a subpar QB behind center, so maybe that’s why they’re playing with fire with Lamar Jackson.
Jackson wants more than the $133 million guaranteed the Ravens offered him a couple of weeks ago.
He’s got every right to make that sort of demand, as he should make at least as much guaranteed money as Russell Wilson, Kyler Murray, and Deshaun Watson.
And while he might be forced to play under the franchise tag, he could also threaten to hold out and force his way off the team.
That’s why NFL analyst Kevin Blackistone urged the Ravens to stop messing around and putting themselves in such a dangerous position.
Blackistone got real on how many teams are struggling because of poor QB play and how fortunate the Ravens are for having one of the best in the league:
“There are 2 types of teams in the NFL: those teams that are looking for a QB and those teams that have one,” Blackistone said on Around the Horn. “Right now, the Baltimore Ravens have a QB. You don’t want to be looking for one.”

The Ravens were a legit Super Bowl contender with Jackson on the field, but they couldn’t get anything going once he missed time with an injury.
Of course, they’re also right to have doubts about Jackson’s durability, given how many games he’s missed throughout his career.
But he’s one of the elite QBs in a league that doesn’t have all too many of them, so they need to do right by their superstar before they see him wearing different threads and torching them on the field.
