The Kansas City Chiefs were able to win the Super Bowl this season despite their lack of wide receiver depth.
Heading into the season, there was speculation that the Chiefs would struggle at receiver, given Tyreek Hill’s absence.
However, they were able to prevail, even when some of their key contributors were injured.
Mecole Hardman suffered an injury causing him to miss over two months of the 2022 season, including the Super Bowl.
Yesterday, however, he posted a positive update about this injury.

Hardman had groin surgery yesterday, which was said to be successful.
Now he is a free agent, someone that many teams have expressed interest in, especially given a key facet of his game.
Hardman was the Chiefs’ second-round pick in 2019, which came on the heels of an impressive combine performance.
His draft stock increased significantly in 2019 after he ran a 4.33 40-yard dash time, one of the quickest at the 2019 combine.
However, even though Hardman is one of the faster players on the Chiefs roster, this hasn’t necessarily materialized into elite NFL production.
In his four seasons with the Chiefs, Hardman has 151 receptions, 2,088 yards, and 16 touchdowns.
While Hardman will likely not be an alpha receiver on the next team he joins, he has proved to be a serviceable second or third option in the passing game.
Having a quarterback as talented as Patrick Mahomes certainly helps, and could be a major reason for Hardman to receive a nice free-agent package from a potential suitor.
Where will the young speedster end up in 2023?
