Finally, a piece of good off-season news for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Following weeks of speculation, veteran DE Brandon Graham has announced that he’s coming back to the team on a one-year deal instead of becoming a free agent as expected, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The 34-year-old turned back the clock last season and had one of his best campaigns yet, logging a career-high 11 sacks and 16 quarterback hits for the Super Bowl-bound Eagles.

Rumors stated that the Cleveland Browns were among the teams interested in the Super Bowl champion, who ultimately decided to stay home on a deal that will pay him nearly $6 million.

Notably, this is great news for a team that’s looking to get some much-needed continuity to get back to the ultimate stage last season, especially after so many key departures to their coaching staff.

He’s currently the longest-tenured player on the team, making 178 regular-season appearances for them, and even helping them win a ring in two trips to the Super Bowl.

He’ll now need just 11 games to become the all-time leader in regular-season games played, topping legendary Kicker David Akers.

Graham currently ranks fourth in sacks (70) in team history, trailing just Clyde Simmons (76), Trent Cole (85.5), and NFL legend Reggie White (124) in that regard.

Also, he’s entered Eagles history books for his iconic play in Super Bowl LII, a strip sack of Tom Brady that helped the team seal the win over the New England Patriots to win their first-ever trophy, so the fans must be thrilled to see him come back for another season.
