The Cowboys Are Reportedly Intrigued With 1 QB Prospect

The Dallas Cowboys had a successful season in 2022, finishing the year with a record of 12-5.

In most divisions, this would have been good enough to win the division, but they finished second in the NFC East to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Despite their regular season success, the Cowboys fell short in the playoffs, losing in the Divisional round.

When a team loses in the playoffs, fingers are often pointed, placing blame on certain players.

Dak Prescott has been the victim of this blame, causing the Cowboys to potentially pivot at the quarterback position.

According to recent reporting, the Cowboys are rumored to be fans of C.J. Stroud.

Stroud, of course, is a top quarterback prospect in the upcoming NFL Draft.

If the Cowboys are genuinely interested in drafting Stroud, they will likely have to trade up, considering he is projected to be a top-ten pick.

Due to their postseason appearance, the Cowboys currently hold the 26th overall draft slot.

Can the Cowboys realistically move on from Prescott?

Prescott is technically tied to the team until 2025, although, the team has an out after the 2023 season.

If they are somehow able to draft Stroud, he could sit behind Prescott during 2023, setting himself up for success in 2024 and beyond.

The first step for the Cowboys is to get a higher draft pick.

From there, the possibilities are endless.

Even if they are unable to land Stroud, if they are truly looking to move on from Prescott, there are a lot of other talented quarterback prospects.
