The NFL Combine is a place where prospects can vastly improve their draft stock.

If a player is less well-known at the time of the Combine, their raw numbers can be enough to push themselves up draft boards.

Tyree Wilson is one of the most highly regarded defensive players in this year’s draft, even though he suffered an injury last season.

Updates on his injury have been largely unknown up to this point, but there has been a recent development regarding his status.

Texas Tech edge Tyree Wilson, one of the top prospects in the 2023 NFL Draft, is progressing well in his recovery from a fractured foot. But Wilson just started ramping up workouts two weeks ago and plans to wait until his pro day to do drills and testing, per source.

Wilson will likely not do any sort of drills at the Combine, waiting until his Pro Day.

The good news for Wilson is that Texas Tech’s Pro Day will be a great place for him to showcase his skills and abilities.

April’s draft should be filled with several marquee edge-rushers, notably, Will Anderson, and Wilson.

If Wilson can prove that he is healthy enough to perform next season, he will likely be a top-20 draft pick.

During his final season at Texas Tech, Wilson racked up 61 total tackles, seven sacks, and added in a forced fumble.

Edge rusher is an important position in the NFL.

The league has seen how players like Myles Garrett and Aaron Donald have significantly impacted defensive lines.

Will this, along with his health, be enough to keep Wilson as a top pick in the draft?

Texas Tech’s Pro Day could be a massive opportunity for Wilson.

We’ll soon see just how strong his foot is, and where he is in the recovery process.
